Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Islamabad and Dolmen Group have signed an MoU to develop a state of the art Shopping and Entertainment Village in DHA Islamabad. This agreement marks a deepening of the collaboration between Dolmen Group and DHA on the heels of the under-construction Dolmen Mall project in DHA Phase VI, Lahore.
Dolmen Group is well-known for being the leading shopping mall and entertainment operator in the country and has also become a top corporate offices and residential project developer in recent years. The upcoming Dolmen Mall Lahore is the group's largest shopping mall project to-date in continuation of its three successful projects in Karachi. The ultra-modern shopping mall in Lahore has been designed by Award Winning Architects Chapman Taylor and will be spread over a total built up area of around 2 million sq. ft. with ground plus 3 levels of retail, anchor stores, hypermarket, cafés, restaurants, themed food streets, food courts and entertainment. This mega-retail development is expected to set a new bar for shopping mall experiences in Pakistan upon its forecasted opening by end of 2023.
The Dolmen City REIT, which stands for Real Estate Investment Trust, was the country's first publicly-listed REIT scheme launched in 2015. Rumor has it that the upcoming Dolmen Mall Lahore project in partnership with DHA will also be structured in the form of a REIT in due course.
Although not much is known yet about the newly-planned project in DHA Islamabad but it also promises to be another exciting development which will expand Dolmen Group's presence to Pakistan's capital city.
According to the recent announcement by Dolmen Group, the memorandum for the DHA Islamabad project was signed by Nadeem Riaz, Chairman & CEO Dolmen Group and Brigadier Nazir Hussain Khan, Retd Secretary DHAI-R on behalf of their respective organizations. Dignitaries including Brigadier Muhammad Jawad, Administrator DHAI-R, Faisal Nadeem, Director Dolmen Group and other senior officials of both organizations were also present at the ceremony.
